Day 1 - The Cradle of Resistance (Airport - Kruja)
We will begin our adventure by landing at Mother Teresa International Airport and then transferring directly to the historic city of Kruja. This city was the epicenter of the resistance against the Turks under the command of our national hero, Skanderbeg, who halted the Ottoman advance into Western Europe for 25 years.
We will enter the citadel to visit the Museum dedicated to Scanderberg and stroll through its Old Bazaar, where traditional craft shops with centuries of history are still preserved.
Rest in Kruja: At the end of the day, you will enjoy the tranquility of the mountains surrounding the fortress, preparing for the journey into the interior of the country.
Day 2 - Crystal Lakes and Little Paris (Kruja - Korça)
Our route today heads southeast to discover Lin, an exceptionally picturesque fishing village on the shores of Lake Ohrid. We will continue along the lake shore, visiting Drilon and Tushemisht, oases of natural beauty that have been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
After enjoying the lakeside scenery, we'll arrive in Korça, known as "Little Paris" for its elegance and French culture. We'll explore the Mirahori Mosque (1469), one of the oldest in the country, and its lively Old Bazaar.
Night in Korça: The day ends among the cobbled streets and Orthodox churches of this vibrant cultural capital.
Day 3 - Hot Springs and Stone City (Korça - Gjirokastër)
We will travel to Permet to immerse ourselves in the Benje Hot SpringsFamous for their healing properties and spectacular location next to a natural canyon, it's an idyllic spot for a nature walk before heading south.
We will end the day in GjirokastërThe "stone city" declared a World Heritage Site. Its hundreds of Ottoman-style tower houses with white stone roofs and wooden balconies will make you feel like you've stepped back in time.
Night in Gjirokastër: You will enjoy the views of the illuminated citadel on the hill, one of the most magical sights in the Balkans.
Day 4 - Natural Sapphires and Ancient Rome (Gjirokastër - Saranda)
Our first stop will be the Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër)A deep spring of azure waters forms an idyllic wooded landscape. It is a true natural monument that feeds the Bistrica River into Saranda Bay.
We will continue towards the Butrint National ParkA UNESCO archaeological treasure where Greek temples, Roman theaters, and unspoiled nature blend together on the Ionian Sea. We'll end the day in the lively port city of Saranda.
Night in Saranda: You can stroll along the seafront of this town, considered the most touristic and safest in the country.
Day 5 - The Albanian Riviera and the City of a Thousand Windows
We will travel along the Ionian coast to the bay of Porto Palermowhere a perfectly preserved castle built by Ali Pasha in the early 19th century stands. We will enjoy the strategic views where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet.
We will finally arrive at BeratKnown as "the city of a thousand windows" for its unique historical architecture, this UNESCO World Heritage city is renowned for its citadel, Byzantine churches, and frescoes by the painter Onufri.
Night in Berat: You will be staying surrounded by the history of the Mangalem and Gorica neighborhoods, in the heart of the citadel.
Day 6 - Roman Legacy and the Heart of Tirana (Berat - Tirana)
On the way to the capital, we will visit Durrës, one of the oldest cities in Albania with 3,000 years of history. There we will explore the Roman amphitheater of Emperor Hadrian, the second largest in the Balkans.
We will go to the nerve center of the capital, the immense Skënderbeg SquareSurrounded by the National Historical Museum and the Opera House, we will walk on a floor made up of stones brought from all corners of Albania, symbolizing the unity of its people under the gaze of the equestrian statue of the national hero.
Once we've crossed the square, we'll go and discover the Et'hem Bey MosqueLocated right on one of its corners, we will stop to admire its rare exterior frescoes that survived the communist era, a jewel of Ottoman architecture that tells us the story of faith and resistance in the city.
After leaving behind the light of the mosque, we will delve into the depths of history in Bunk'Art 2We will enter this old secret nuclear bunker through its concrete dome to explore the tunnels that hold the secrets of the political police and Albania's most secretive past.
Upon leaving the gloom of the bunker, we will experience the radical transformation of the city in the Blloku neighborhoodWe will walk through what was once a restricted area for the regime's elite, now transformed into the most vibrant and modern place in Tirana, full of terraces and cosmopolitan life.
Night in Tirana: We will end our last evening in Albania surrounded by the energy of the capital, resting in the heart of the city before our return.
Day 7 - Farewell (Tirana - Airport)
After a final breakfast in vibrant Tirana, we bid farewell to the "Land of Eagles," our suitcases brimming with contrasts, from the Kruja mountains to the azure Ionian Sea. Your private transfer will take you comfortably to Mother Teresa International Airport, allowing you one last glimpse of a capital city that blends Ottoman history, communist influences, and European modernity. This final journey is the perfect moment to reflect on a week of discoveries, from the thousand windows of Berat to the magic of the Blue Eye.
